Dirty Toad Landscaping is committed to sustainable practices and ecologically sound design.  We encourage the planting of native plant species.  Native plants have several advantages: having already adapted to live in southeast Ohio’s unique growing conditions, they will not need supplemental watering once established and tend to be very low maintenance. Additionally, native plants attract bird and insect species to your yard, making it a functional part of the surrounding ecosystem. Please see our plant catalog for a sample of plants we recommend.

Dirty Toad Landscaping uses battery-operated equipment and hand tools to reduce emissions and noise pollution.  The yard waste that we acquire in our landscaping is used to make compost to grow the native plants in our nursery.  We use recycled-content materials, and do not use chemical pesticides or fertilizers in the nursery.  In our landscaping, the only time we use pesticides is for invasive species removal, and only when mechanical eradication is not an option.  Dirty Toad Landscaping will not plant invasive plants and does not do lawn care.  Instead, we encourage lawn alternatives and native plantings.
